Catfish Birthday Cake
I made this for a little boy's birthday party as well. He loves to fish and his favorite fish is a catfish. They are pretty swampy looking, so I did my best to make an ugly fish look good! I was really happy with the results!
I airbrushed the brown on the top of the cake. I also airbrushed the fins, so that you could see the texture better. I made the mouth out of rice krispy treats, so that it was sturdy enough to stay open.

Wedding Cake!
I made my first wedding cake!!
I made this cake for my friend Candace's wedding. She had a chocolate a pool colored wedding. I made the flowers on the cake using gum paste. They are little pool colored gerbera daisies. This was my first time working with gum paste and I was amazed at how fast the flowers dried. This was also the first time that I have baked and stacked a large cake. It was quite an experience! I gave the cake a pearl sheen with my airbrush and I think it really dressed up the cake.
I felt like the cake boss delivering the cake. I was soooo worried that it would fall apart during the delivery. We had to drive about an hour on a rough road to deliver the cake. I am so glad that I bought an instructional video on stacking cakes. It was VERY helpful! The cake remained very sturdy throughout the drive.
The beautiful bride and groom loved the cake! Tuff is hiding a huge piece of fondant behind his back. There was a little cake war.

Kari & Ellie's Barnyard Baby Shower
My friend, Kari, is having a baby girl in September and naming her Ellie. I was asked to make the cake for her barnyard themed baby shower. This cake was the centerpiece on the table and everyone loved it! It was a lemon cake with lemon frosting (Kari's favorite).
I actually airbrushed the fondant this time. It was my first time using the airbrust that my husband bought for me! I was nervous, but the cake turned out great! I learn all kinds of new things with each cake. On this cake, I learned how to make grass with buttercream frosting and how to use my new airbrush. I had a lot of fun making this cake, as I do with every cake that I make!
I think my barnyard cake might be my husband's new favorite. He actually took close up pictures of each little farm animal because he thinks they are so great! I think I could use a little practice, but they aren't too shabby.

Hula Girl!
This cake was VERY fun to make! I made it for a luau themed birthday party. My husband says it's my best cake yet. . . He likes this cake because the coconut bra is removable. Underneath the coconuts, the cake is rated "R". I made the lady's chest out of cereal treats. This was my first time using cereal treats with a cake. I wanted to try it because I watch the cake boss use cereal treats quite often on his cakes. I think they worked very well!

Mother's Day Celebration
In celebration of Mother's Day, my Mom, my Nana, and I took a road trip to Dallas. We went to a place called "Paining with a Twist," which was a wonderful experience! I baked a delicious cake for the event. Nana and my Mom loved it! I learned a good lesson on the long road trip; keep the cake in a cooler.

Holiday Cakes
I baked this cake in celebration of my friend's birthday at work. Her birthday is very close to Christmas. This was my first time laying fondant on a square cake, which is much more difficult than a circle cake. The edges of the square are a little tricky.
These cakes were absolutely delicious! The cakes were chocolate and vanilla marble topped with a peppermint buttercream and peppermint fondant. I received the ultimate compliment on this cake when my grandmother asked me for the recipe!
This is a picture of Kelly and me. Kelly is the sister that sent me to the fondant class, so over Christmas break I taught her the art of fondant. We were very proud of our results.
